The details of the funds from 2017 Oxfam Trailwalker

Total of KRW 187,788,038 was raised by 2017 Oxfam Trailwalker.

Fundraising Period: 8 Nov. 2016  - 31 Jul. 2017

The fund includes registration fees for 100km and 10km walk and donation funding, which was spent on emergency response by Oxfam for 4 countries including East Africa facing unprecedented famine.

The situation in East Africa

In 2017, 4 countries in East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia and South Sudan) faced unprecedented famine. Approximately 28 million people have been suffering from this famine and 18.6 million of them are in serious food crisis.

Oxfam’s emergency response for East Africa

Oxfam had immediately supplied emergency food and safe water to the area before rainy season that would hamper the delivery and has been providing food and water to the severely suffering areas in East Africa.

The difference we made together

Total of 3,123 donors made the donation through 2017 Oxfam Trailwalker and it contributed to supplying safe water and emergency food to about 55,407 people.

This achievement was possible through the efforts of all the participants and donors. We sincerely appreciate it.

Emergency Food Supply
8,568 families (51,407 people)

Supply food to 6 people per a family for 10 days

  • All the donation of Oxfam is the unrestricted fund which first goes to the most emergent and needed areas.
  • The number of recipients is suggested to help understand the sale and the effect of donation. It may vary by the economic factors such as the scale of damage, environment and exchange rate in each area, or the style and period of emergency relief.
