How to Issue a Donation Receipt

Hello, Oxfam Trailwalker participants and donors, Thank you sincerely for joining us in taking steps toward a just world without poverty. Your generous contributions have enabled Oxfam to continue making a positive impact through emergency relief, international development, and advocacy activities worldwide.

"A Life-Changing walk for people in poverty” continues thanks to your interest and support. We hope for your continued generosity, and we would like to guide you on how to issue a donation receipt.

 How to Issue a Donation Receipt 

[For Korean Taxpayers]


1. Checking Your Donation Information

To ensure that your donation receipt is issued correctly, please make sure to enter the donor’s name and Foreigner Registration Number accurately when making a donation.



*You can input your Foreigner Registration Number in the Resident Registration Number field.
*Donation receipts can only be issued for those with taxable income in South Korea.


You can verify whether your donation receipt request has been properly submitted by checking the "My Page" section on Oxfam’s official website.
 
[How to Check Donor Information]
  1. Log in to "My Page" on the Oxfam website.
  2. Click on the "Donor Information" menu on the left.
  3. Scroll down to find the "Donation Receipt" section.

 2. Receiving Your Donation Receipt
During the year-end tax settlement, your donation receipt will be automatically available for viewing under the [Korean National Tax Service (NTS) Hometax → Year-End Tax Adjustment Simplification Service → Donation Section].
※ Only donations can be issued until December 31 of this year. The amount sponsored after December 31st will be included as a donation for the following year, and a receipt will be issued.

[For International Taxpayers]
Tax-deductible receipts are issued only upon request. However, Oxfam Korea cannot guarantee eligibility for tax deductions in other countries. To request a receipt, please contact trailwalker@oxfam.or.kr with detailed information about yourself and your donor.
 
 Donation Receipt FAQs for Korean Taxpayers 

1. What is a donation tax deduction?
Oxfam is a designated donation organization, and your valuable donations qualify for a tax deduction as "Designated Donations (Code 40)" during the year-end tax settlement. To issue a tax-deductible donation receipt, you must provide your name and Foreigner Registration Number.

2. Can a donation receipt be issued under a name other than the donor’s?
Due to relevant legal regulations, donation receipts can only be issued under the donor’s name to prevent duplicate issuance and ensure transparency.
If you have made a donation under your child’s name, and their Resident Registration Number has been provided, you can receive a donation receipt under their name and report it to the National Tax Service.

3. How can corporations (businesses) receive a donation receipt?
Corporate (business) donors cannot receive donation receipts via the National Tax Service’s Simplification Service. Please use the Oxfam website or contact the Oxfam Trailwalker office for assistance.

4. What are the criteria for donation tax deductions?
  • Code: 40 (Designated Donations)
  • Deduction Rate: Individuals – 15% (30% for amounts exceeding KRW 10 million), Corporations – Fully deductible
  • Deduction Limit: Individuals – Up to 30% of taxable income, Corporations – Up to 10% of taxable income
  • Carryover Deductions: Excess deductions can be carried over for up to 10 years

5. Are there additional documents required for year-end tax settlement?
For year-end tax settlement, you may need the Certificate of Business Registration and the Non-Profit Corporation Establishment Permit, which can be downloaded below.
